Event Type

We are looking for volunteers for our annual Read Across America event on Thursday, March 2nd and we would love to have your organization join us! Read Across America is an event created by the National Education Association to promote reading among children while celebrating the birthday of the renowned children’s author, Dr. Seuss.

This year marks the 18th annual celebration of Read Across America! And as Jumpstart gears up for this day, we would like to ask you to be a part of this exciting reading affair. We are holding this event at our preschools on campus, the Early Learning Research Academy (ELRA) at 501 Cooper Street and at the STEM building at 539 Cooper Street.

The book in focus this year is a Dr. Seuss favorite, The Cat in the Hat. We are asking our guest readers to share this fun story with our Pre-K children. Would you be able to participate in this experience?

NOTE: Students MUST volunteer for at least 2 hours for this to count as an Honors Service Event
