Dr. Matthew Edson, DVM, MICP, MRCVS is visiting campus to speak about his extensive experience and knowledge of the veterinary field during free period! He is the Founding Dean of Rowan University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, is the owner of Rancocas Veterinary Associates in Mt. Laurel, NJ, and is a Rutgers alumnus! Dr. Edson is interested in many aspects of veterinary medicine, but places emphasis on equine, small ruminant, camelid, and pot-bellied pig medicine and surgery. He speaks both locally and nationally on the care of miniature pigs, backyard poultry, and backyard livestock.
Additionally, Dr. Edson has participated in disaster and humanitarian relief efforts with World Vets, which has led him to volunteer in Nicaragua, St. Eustatius, and Tanzania. He is also the immediate past president of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association (NJVMA), a Site Visitor for the AMA Council on Education, former Chair and Large Animal Representative on the AMA Committee on Disaster and Emergency Issues, and former Vice Chair of the AMA Practice Advisory Panel Pilot.
