Self- Care: The Competent and Ethical Social Worker
It is not unusual that a challenging stressful situation is not brought up by a student until the student has reached a breaking point. When the student is asked why they did not say anything earlier, the response is usually, “I didn’t want you to think I couldn’t handle it.” This suggests that students need a platform to process these situations and there implications for the clients they serve.
