On November 3-4, at the Writers House in Rutgers Camden, the Digital Studies Center in collaboration with the MFA Creative Writing program will be hosting UR Here Festival of Digital Language Arts.
Our aim is to move from an entrepreneurial and techno-libertarian mindset into one of Digital Advocacy. What is the cultural surrounding Digital Language arts? What cultural affordances or constraints exist within this world? Our aim is to investigate these material, cultural, and digital questions through hands-on workshops in digital writing, sound design, computer programming, and more. Through not just reading and writing, but thinking about writing we tackle the question of what does it mean to be an engaged member of this new world.
