Philanthropy, the process of using private dollars and private initiatives to do charitable work, is a practice held in great esteem within American society, but is it the most effective or equitable way of solving public problems? In the season of “giving,” who decides what/when/where to give and what does it really mean to “give back”? Join the Honors College & Professor Zach Woods (Urban Studies) as we are challenged to think about the role of philanthropy in our society.
