What Lies Beneath Cooper Street?
A beer bottle, pipes for smoking tobacco, a pair of glass syringes, a tiny white doll with a broken leg — these and other artifacts hold the stories of past residents of the Cooper Street Historic District. Archaeologists found these objects underground prior to construction of the dormitory at 330 Cooper Street. Now, Rutgers-Camden graduate students in public history are unleashing their secrets.
