The Honors College is partnering with Orthodox Christian Campus Ministries (OCCM) to put together hygiene product care packages for donation to Cathedral Kitchen and other local homeless outreach programs.

Every semester, students from Rutgers Camden and the surrounding area come together to assemble C.A.R.E Packages for the homeless, where “C.A.R.E” stands for “Christ Always Receives Everyone.” These packages contain 20+ essentials that every person should have, but if given a couple dollars, a struggling person would rather buy a sandwich or a water bottle rather than a soap bar or a washcloth or even a hat and gloves for the brutal winter. This is where we come in!

The service event sign-up, as well as the list of items for donation, can be found at: tinyurl.com/occmcares

  • You MUST sign up for at least one item in order to participate in the service and receive Honors credit. Honors credit will only be granted to students who both participate in the assembly event AND bring a donation.
  • Each item requires a donation of a specific quantity. Items must be travel-sized and can typically be bought at the dollar store or in bulk on Amazon Prime. Please shop ahead of time to ensure that you get the best price for your donation items.
