Once again this year, the Honors College will partner with the local Jumpstart chapter in support of Read for the Record. This year, Jumpstart is celebrating it’s 14th anniversary of Read for the Record on November 7, 2019 with the book, Thank You, Omu! This event brings together millions of adults and children around the world each year to read the same book on the same day in order to raise awareness about the critical importance of early literacy. Sharing high-quality picture books with young children is at the core of Jumpstart’s mission. Each year, a book is selected that fosters language and social-emotional development, honors the diversity in our world, has a strong narrative, and appeals to young children. The Honors College is once again thrilled to share this incredible event with our students as an approved Service activity for Fall 2019.
In order to participate, students are asked to sign up at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/R4TR2019

If you cannot complete the full shift but still wish to contribute, you’re welcome to sign up for as much time as you can but please be aware this may not be submitted for Honors Engagement.
