Service: St. Paul’s dinner drop-off

Event Type

The Rutgers-Camden Honors College students and staff have been supporting our neighbors at St. Paul’s Church by serving and preparing hot dinners to homeless and food insecure neighbors over the past year. For the Fall 2021 semester, we will approve service opportunities for students who prepare a dish and deliver it to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church located just 1 block from the Honors College, at 422 Market Street, Camden, NJ 08102.

Please note – this service opportunity is very important to the neighbors who gather here for food. For some, we are told that the hot meal they receive at St. Paul’s lasts them up to 3 days. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we ask that you wear your mask when dropping your dish off in the Church vestibule, and use hand sanitizer when returning to your vehicle.

Also, students who would like to stay and help package the food with us are welcome. Rutgers no longer has restrictions on students participating in events such as this one. Usually it takes about one hour to package up all of the food.

To sign up for a date to do this event as your Fall 2021 service, please sign up here, (make sure to pick the correct sheet for the date you want to do), and be sure to indicate which dish you will prepare. We also ask that you take a photo of your dish in front of St. Paul’s Church and submit that photo in the Record of Fall 2021 Engagement Form for credit.
