Martin Luther King Day of Service
Each January, Rutgers University–Camden answers a national call to service to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Volunteers, families, and community members come together to participate in a day of action, both on the campus and in the community.
Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Rutgers–Camden
8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Rutgers–Camden Campus Center
Address: 326 Penn Street, Camden, NJ 08102
Parking is available in all lots except Lot C12
Motivated by Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved Community, Rutgers–Camden seeks to create a space on our campus where people from all backgrounds can work and learn together.
Activities are open to students, alumni, faculty, and staff of the university; their families; and children and adults from across the city, the state, and the region.
While we sometimes think of service as one group of people serving another, this day of service involves individuals serving each other and the larger community.
“The time is always right to do what is right.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Martin Luther King Day of Service is open to the Rutgers–Camden community. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members are welcome to participate.
Service site placements are subject to change. We cannot guarantee placements, so please contact Chris Countryman at email@example.com if you are planning to bring a large group.
